The VTV-1223 is a high-performance video up-converter for 4K (3840-by-2160) and 3D applications, and includes an integrated HDMI 1.4a receiver. The VTV-1223 up-converts standard-definition and high-definition 2D video up to 4K resolution (1440p60/2160p30) for output to interfaces such as HDMI 1.4a or DisplayPort 1.1a. It also up-converts 3D video from legacy HDMI 1.3 source devices up to 1080p and 2160p depending on the 3D input format. Based on Marseille Networks’ scaling engine, the VTV‑1223 maintains 10-bit precision throughout its processing stages.

The VTV-1223 was designed from the ground-up as a single-chip solution for optimal power efficiency and system cost-effectiveness. It integrates an HDMI 1.4a compliant HDMI receiver, EDID memory, CEC interface, field-scaling based de-interlacing and advanced 4K scaling for cost-sensitive applications. An HDCP 1.4 decryption engine is integrated along with pre-programmed HDCP keys to provide a high level of security and reduce manufacturing cost and complexity.

The VTV-1223 is the perfect solution to quickly enable All-in-One PCs with an HDMI input to migrate from 1080p displays to 1440p or 1600p displays, and to enable Audio Video Receivers and Blu-ray players to up-convert HD content for output to Quad-HD TVs and Quad-HD projectors.
